How do I upgrade to a Full Version?
Pay me $99 and send me the registration number from your copy running on the PC that you want to license.

Where do I get the Microsoft ODBC Drivers?
They are free from Microsoft.
Check your computer by Selecting Administrative Tools from the Control Panel. Select Data Sources (ODBC) and be sure that you have the Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) installed.

What do I get for $99?
You get a fully functional licensed version, software fixes, support and upgrades.

Can multiple people use a license purchased by a club?
Contact me for licensing options. I have multiple ways of handling this.

Can I install in a directory other then the default?
Sure. But I bet it buggers up the dsn file (ODBC information). Edit the fe.dsn file in the default directory and update the last two lines to represent where you installed it. If you dont get what I am saying here, dont change the defualt install directory.

How many events can I use this system for?
Hundreds. You can do as many as you want at one time. A hunting test is actually two events. Do as many as your secretary brains can handle.
How many stakes can an event have.
Version 1 allows up to 10 stakes on two courses.
Can I recall dogs entered in prior events into the current event?
Yes. The entry data is can be recalled into later events. It recalls in reverse order in order to preserve latest titled earned.

If a dog scratches before close, can I delete all his entries in one step?
No. You must delete from each stake. I did this because it is too easy to drop all stakes accidently.
Can I assign multiple handlers to a dog in order to avoid bracing scout with handler?
Yes. If the entry has multiple handlers seperated by "/" or " or" then the random running order generator will test each handler of the dog to the potential bracemate before pairing.
If I drag a laptop and printer to an event, can the catalog only print dogs that placed?
Yes. The event master has a flag to tell the system that "Printing will be done at the event". This narrows the selection of catalog data to only dogs that placed, received an AM or Qualified (Hunting Tests)

Can I manipulate the running order once it is generated?
Sort of. You cannot change the pairing. You can swap braces up and down in order to fix handlers with sequencial braces. This is also important if you have judges from other stakes that need first or last brace. You cannot move a brace with a "bye" dog.
But what if I dont like the way the dogs are paired up?
Easy. Select the stake and "Generate" the running order again. It is a random selection. Maybe your luck will be better the second time.

Does the software handle Bitches in Heat
Yes, if they are identified before the running order is generated. Flip the switch on the dog's entry and it will be drawn last. Multiple bitches in heat will be randomly paired AND if the last brace of dogs not in heat has a female and is a BYE brace, one will run with the last half brace. Bitches in heat are designated on the running order with a sex = F*i.s.

Why does the system delete a running order if a change is made to an entry?
The system will delete the running order for a stake where a change to an entry has been made. This is because the running order was created by logic that keeps handlers from being braced with themselves, bitches in heat from being braced with males, etc.. Adding or deleting an entry directly affects the running order. If you change the Call Name, Registration Number, Handler, Sex or Bitch in Heat flag, the running order that the dog was in will be deleted. Changing Address or birthdates, etc.. will not nuke the running order. (This was changed on 4/07/2008)
Why does it generate multiple "bye" braces?
Because it is random. It looks as best as possible to combine handlers but if the last two are the same handler, it will create multiple "bye" braces. Ever had a pro send you a ton of entries? Regenerate the stake and check it for multiple byes. Mash the generate button enough and it will randomly figure it out.
Random is random.

Can it do judges books?
Yes, when the running order is printed, a file call judgelab.csv is created in the default directory. There is a Word document called judgelab.doc that is already set up to mail-merge with the csv file. Print two copies and create your books. Use the Mail Merge Wizard to change label formats if needed.

How do I identify a withheld placement?
Easy. Don't do anything. Mark only the placements given. If "reports are to be printed at the event" option is selected in the Event Master, the system looks for placements 1 - 4. If none are given, it will note it right above the judges signatures.
What do I need to do if a dog scratches after closing?
If the dog scratches after the running order is generated, you must modify the breed counts and enter starter quantites on the catalog in the secretary certification section. The catalog will print the breed counts of the entries but you must modify it if there is a scratch.

How do I stop my dog from chasing birds?
Sounds like a hardware problem. This is about software. Sorry.

If I download the latest version, what happens to my existing data?
The sofware is smart enough to know what level the files are compared to the software running. First run after upgrading or re-installing will upgrade your database to the level matching the software. Installation a second time or upgrading wil NOT delete your data. Cool Stuff!

Reinstalling is asking me to register my version. Whats up with that?
A couple things may have happened. Your install wiped out my security info or the latest version has a differnt license. Easy solution. Email me your registration code and I will sort it out. Trial versions will run for 15 days fully functional so don't sweat.

How do I buy this incredible software?
Click on the "Buy now" button and pay with PayPal. I will need the registration number from the Splash screen to upgrade your license from trial to full.
